Great writing, Susan! I've been lucky enough to have been invited to the last two Rachel Carson Awards ceremonies (National Audubon Society) and I'll be going to the 2010 ceremony in May. It's an inspiring event every time - each year honoring women who embody her spirit and mirror her accomplishments in raising environmental awareness.
thanks, Dan! though I can't take credit for the writing - that should go to RC's biographer - I just edited the info a bit to fit (and added the proper attributions at the end, of course!... ;) - the RC events sound great - where's the one in May being held?
